I have been working on an appliqué fruit quilt so I decided to do a fruit of the month for my journal quilts this year. Citrus fruits are the fruit of January around here...and nice shiny lemons are so pretty. Raw edge appliquéd and thread painted and some oil pastel highlights.

Cherries definitely are the fruit for the month of February. George and the cherry tree....my oldest son was born on his birthday. Cherries are big in our family especially in pie form with vanilla ice cream...yum....

Plum trees are blooming everywhere in March in SC and GA....so of course I chose the plum tree. I actually hand dyed the plum fabric...don't they look juicy?????

Peaches are everywhere right now-peach cobbler and homemade peach ice cream....get outta the way Breyers....always a big hit with the family... and dont these look like you could take a bite out of them????? after defuzzing of course!!:>

Tomatoes are everywhere by July 4th....its hard to decide which is better a nice drippy peach or an equally drippy tomatoe...on a blt...on a salad...by itself....what could be better?

Pears are beautiful to look at and they are in now....;that beige and gold with a blush of pink....lovely fruit.
