Margaret has been sewing like a maniac since - well as long as she can remember. Her mom let Margaret use the Singer featherweight
in third grade. Shortly there after she won her first blue ribbon for an apron in fourth grade for 4-H and she has been sewing
away ever since. Margaret will try to sew anything once...and even made a man's wool suit once.
Margaret took time out from her sewing to earn a BA in Art from the University of Georgia and Augusta State University. She
then went on to earn an M.Ed. at Augusta State and MLIS at the University of South Carolina. After a 30 year career teaching
in Augusta Georgia, Margaret has returned to her first love sewing art quilts and other fiber related art.
Margaret has had numerous quilts win numerous awards in many quilt shows from local shows to international shows. She has
quilts in many private collections. Margaret is a member of the High Country Craft Guild and is currently represented by Fish
or Cut Bait Gallery in Edisto, SC. Currently she is also serving as Vice President of the SC state quilt guild, Quilters
of South Carolina.
Margaret loves to share what she has learned about sewing and the fiber arts and likes nothing better than to teach fiber
related classes....everything from machine quilting to thread painting to wearable art. She loves it all.
When she is not busy sewing you can catch up with her latest happenings on a daily basis at her blog www.scquiltaddict.blogspot.com
one of her newest passions. A great spot to share with her many friends.
Margaret has three sons...the youngest one just finished his first year at law school and the oldest just started his MBA
at Georgia Tech .....yeah... and one darling sweet husband and two sweet Jack Russells and two cats...one who is a quilt
bead nut cat...he steals the beads.
The Hunts live on the banks of the Savannah River in SC across from Augusta GA which they can see from their back porch. They
think they are very lucky to live in this beautiful place!
